ICS Symbiosis

The story of ICS Symbiosis

Primary and Secondary School

ICS Symbiosis hosts students from 5 to 18 years old.

With its 10,000 square meters, ICS Symbiosis is built in a territory subject to rapid transformation, Municipio 5. The School is committed, together with the Municipality of Milan, the Metropolitan City and Covivio, to turn this area in a real cultural district.

The project is by Barreca & La Varra (the creators of the award-winning project Bosco Verticale) and it was designed specifically on students’ desires, who were asked "How do you imagine your ideal school?". They wished for a happy and creative space, a place to meet people and experience life, even after the bell rings.

For this reason, ICS Symbiosis provides new areas for socialization outside the classroom and different common spaces, such as the indoor gym and the semi-Olympic (25 meters) indoor swimming pool. The outdoor area, of approximately 6,000 square meters, hosts a multifunctional playground.

The campus was inaugurated by institutions behind closed doors on 17 December 2020, hosting in its auditorium the Orchestra Ritmico Sinfonica Italiana for a tribute to Ennio Morricone. Click here to learn more.
