Settling-in is a journey linked to the rhythms and past experiences of the children. It allows them to form new relationships with adults and children at their own pace, in a context that feels safe.
The presence of a parent at the nursery during this delicate phase of separation from and reunification with the family is necessary in order to support and guide the child, and plays a fundamental role as mediator in the relationship between the child, the teacher and the nursery.
The child goes on a journey with the outside world during these new encounters, a journey that is slowly enriched by new environments, new games and new acquaintances. Our teachers guide and support this experience by establishing a welcoming, reciprocal relationship based on adjustments, exchanges and discoveries.
The settling-in period at ICS International School, with a parent present, lasts about two weeks. However we believe it is important to identify the most suitable conditions for each child, taking into account individual readiness and needs.
